Chapter 1·The Power of Prayer

The Unbelievable Cure

4 March 07, 4:00am — when one of a Sai Bhakt (Sai Neha) was suffering from regular stomach pain since childhood. She had undergone a number of treatments but never got relief from her pain. On that very day she had a dream that Maa is sitting in a hall on her chair and was saying that today I am going to give you a lesson on "How to attain Moksha". Maa told that there are five steps to attain Moksha. When she heard the steps to attain Moksha, she went to Maa and asked — these very steps were given by Lord Krishna to Arjun in the Mahabharat — and on that, Maa gave her a sweet smile.

Next day, as she was suffering from severe stomach ache, she again consulted the doctor and got an ultrasound and CT scan done, and it was diagnosed that she is suffering from chronic pancreatitis with four stones in her pancreatic duct — if she is not operated on time she could even lose her life. The case was so complicated that she was referred to Hyderabad, and for ten days she went under tough treatment. It was Swami's blessings and Maa's prayer that she was finally saved and blessed with a new life.

Guru is the person who teaches the human to leave the path of darkness and reach the path of light, i.e. the "gyan of God". To realise divinity, God slides the door of delusion, parts the curtain of ignorance and opens the closed eye. He is right before you. The fog of sensual pleasure is hiding Him from you. Switch on the light — the darkness disappears and He becomes visible.

Doctor is found where patients gather, the surgeon stays in the operation ward — so too the Lord is ever with the suffering and struggling; when the people cry out in agony, there God will be. — Sri Sathya Sai Baba
